Interactive Billboards
October 9, 2008From Daniel McCall
Billboard advertising is one of my favorite advertising medium, because it allows the advertiser to create and actual 3D advertisement that can interact with the environment it is placed in. I love the interactivity of the this billboard. The brand is a lingerie clothing company and when wind blows past the billboard it lifts up the skirt and reveals one other their underwear products underneath.

I’ve never heard of such a billboard! The interaction with the wind reminds me of the history of advertisement movie we watched in class because of the billboard that blew the smoke rings. It would catch the eye and create conversation for people who are walking the streets. However, the people in cars won’t realize the wind is doing the work. I hope they place the billboard somewhere where there is a lot of walking as well as driving for that very reason.
That is so creative! This really relates to the movie we watched yesterday in class and the segment they had on outdoor advertising. One of the things that stuck out to me was the phrase “Exclamation, not explanation.” This is definitely that “exclamation”. Who could miss this billboard? Is the “look” at the top of the board necessary? Hah… Thanks for posting that!
